1月26日，多家韩国媒体披露，朝鲜要求平壤封城五天防疫，显然是在为下个月8号举行的朝鲜建军节75周年大阅兵进行防疫准备，以免疫情在阅兵前后扩散。目前，朝鲜方面除了要求平壤市民在家自行隔离5天检测体温外，也要求各国驻朝外交机构职员尽量避免出行，配合当地防疫政策。
