咪苏唢呐因地名而闻名于世，起源于四川省泸州市叙永县水潦彝族自治乡咪苏坝，地处赤水河中上游川、滇、黔三省结合部。“咪苏”在彝语即“香甜”之意。2006年，咪苏唢呐被四川省人民政府公布为首批非物质文化遗产。
