巨野县是山东重要的洋葱种植基地。近年来，当地积极探索洋葱分类分级种销模式，根据泰国、菲律宾、新加坡、马来西亚等不同国家的饮食习惯，推广紫洋葱、粉洋葱、黄洋葱等多品种洋葱种植，并通过分类分级的种销模式，把“小生意”做成了跨国“大买卖”。
