Stand表示“站立”，on your own two feet,就是“站在自己的两只脚上，靠自己站着”，所以其实就是“独立”的意思，To be independent, to look after yourself.
比如：“你已经是成年人了，要学会自己独立”，就可以说You're an adult now, you have to learn to stand on your own two feet.“我们也不能永远和父母住一起，总要学会自己独立”，We can't live with our parents forever, one day we need to stand on our own two feet.
词组里还有需要注意的连读，stand和on,辅音遇上元音，有很自然的连读，stand on，stand on your own two feet. feet这里是复数，单数是foot，那要注意读音，元音字母ee，发的是长元音/i:/.
