2020年9月，习近平总书记在联合国大会上作出“努力争取2030年前实现碳达峰，2060年前实现碳中和”的承诺。虽然中国发展的任务还十分艰巨，实现“双碳目标”的时间短、任务重，主动承诺充分展现了大国的责任与担当。 “双碳目标”需要政府、企业和公众共同参与，化挑战为机遇。 为此， 中国化工学会 编写 了 科普材料——碳达峰与碳中和，以让公众了解相关知识 。
