1. in deep water
Bill got in algebra class. The class is too difficult for him, and he's almost failing.
The director knew he'd be in deep water he didn't mention his wife in his acceptance speech.
2. in the bag
Judging by the enthusiastic reception given him everywhere, they felt that his election was .
When the score got to 8 to 2 we knew the game was in the bag.
He gave the waiter a tip.
We don't need to leave a tip for the waiter, there's a service charge included in the bill.
These small protests are the tip of the iceberg.
The manager-employee problems in this company are just the tip of the iceberg.
What you know about the problems between your mother and I are only the tip of the iceberg.
The problems that you here now are just the tip of the iceberg. numerous disasters waiting to happen.
无论是 small 还是 little， 它们都不能表达出像 tip of the iceberg 所表达的程度和跨度，因此要表达可能隐藏更大的问题时，使用 tip of the iceberg 显得更贴切。
