品玩3月1日讯，引述cnBeta消息，居住在俄勒冈州波特兰的Linux之父Linus Torvalds在最新日志中表示，自己经历了长达六天的断电，所以对Linux kernel 5.12的合并需要额外一周的时间。
Torvalds还指出，该版本的内核只收集到了10000个左右的提交贡献，比通常的1.2~1.3万要少得多。
Linux kernel 5.12中新增Clang Link-Time优化，以改进编译器性能。同时支持了Intel的eASIC NX5芯片（旨在边缘和云计算领域作为FPGA的替代方案）、支持骁龙888 5G SoC等。
与此同时，也移除了老旧的OPROFILE支持和一些不再有意义的SoC驱动文件。
