8月31日，佤邦卫生局新冠病毒疫情防控组发布了由佤邦联合军副总司令赵忠丹签署的防疫通告。9月1日起关闭所有与缅甸政府管理区的通道，禁止缅甸政府管理区的人员进入佤邦地区，期间有偷渡进入者将面临罚款及判刑三年。
