1月25日早晨，有市民报料称，深圳市莲花山公园风筝广场附近的荔枝林发生了一起命案，一名年轻女子在一棵荔枝树上上吊身亡，原因不明。记者了解到，死者身穿白色上衣，黑色运动长裤。福田警方证实该女子排除他杀，原因还在进一步调查中。
