雍正泰陵的修建，也是一个密云，因为雍正皇帝的死很蹊跷，在解放后，一直有人提倡着挖掘泰陵以查清雍正的死因。1980年，就有联合考古队准备对泰陵进行挖掘的时候，他们发现，曾经孙海英挖掘的盗洞并没有深入到腹地，故而，泰陵不能够成为国家发掘的陵墓地点。也算是雍正的幸运吧，最终挖掘泰陵的工作宣告终止，其死因究竟如何，只能等待未来的解释了。
